Eastern Community Sport and Recreation Inc. believe that a fit and active community is a healthy and strong one. They're helping to foster that in the east of Christchurch by uniting our clubs, inspiring our kids, and supporting our people.

Their aim has always been to serve the eastern suburbs in the most effective way possible, celebrating strengths and working together to overcome the challenges.

Their collective success is plain for all to see – there is a groundswell of support for the clubs, events and programmes supported and delivered by Eastern Community Sport and Recreation Inc, and the community continues to embrace the healthy, active life they promote.

At the end of the day, the goal is a pretty simple one – to do whatever they can to make our community a happier, healthier place to live.

Their collaborative events help us stay connected, while their sport and recreation programmes encourage the people of the east to live an active life. Education plays a crucial role.

Originally formed to bring New Brighton’s key sports clubs together under one roof, Eastern Community Sport and Recreation Inc. evolved into an organisation which nurtures and supports our community in numerous ways.

They provide affordable and accessible sport and recreation programmes for the people of the eastern suburbs, deliver in school PE lessons, run an OSCAR Before and After school care along with 4 community venues across the eastern suburbs.

The programmes are designed to empower the people of our community, encouraging them to become involved in local sport and educating them on the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle.
